When it comes to clothes, Victoria Beckham may mix designer pieces with bargains from Tarts, her favourite shop in Waltham Cross. But where jewellery is concerned, only the real deal will do.

In fact she is living proof that diamonds are indeed a girl’s best friend. And it’s not just a girl thing – husband David has his fair share of sparklers too. A visit to The Ivy restaurant in London last week saw Victoria in one of her favourite diamond cross necklaces and a glittering bracelet while David wore a pair of diamond and platinum earrings.

Speaking about his style, David says: “I don’t think we should be sheep and follow anyone else. I think of dressing as a way of being artistic.”

Both he and Victoria share similar tastes when it comes to jewellery, wearing matching gold Rolex watches and diamond-encrusted cross necklaces. “I like all that,” says Victoria. “I mean, I know it’s really tacky, but it makes me laugh.”

Ever since they met back in 1997, the couple have showered each other with gifts, mainly of the diamond variety. The result is an impressive collection of jewellery – a symbol not only of their wealth but of their love for each other.
