In the next four weeks, Victoria Beckham has her new autobiography out, then a new single followed by her first album. This time it’s not about Posh and Becks or the Spice Girls. She is on her own. If ever there was a time to be scared, it is now.
But VB is on song. Scared she isn’t. In fact, as she joins us in a side room at a dance studio where she is rehearsing, she is preceded by gales of laughter.
“That was the dancers. I selected them personally because you not only want them to perform, but you want to enjoy their company.”
Laughter is high on the agenda as an antidote for the mad goldfish bowl existence of David, Victoria and Brooklyn. She chuckles over their new Beckingham Palace website – visited by 11 million people in the first week it was online. “It was a joke, we were poking fun at ourselves and some of the crazy things that are written about us. I honestly don’t take myself so seriously that I would copy my house on a website and call it Beckingham Palace.”
In this week’s issue of HELLO! Magazine you will find the full exclusive interview with Victoria. Plus, in her own words, the artist formerly known as Posh reveals how she fell in love with David - “who wants to be sensible when you’re falling in love?” Her admiration for Geri Halliwell- “Geri was the first person I have ever felt I could say: ‘This is my best friend’ about.” And the truth about her health problems, “I began living on vegetables and nothing else. I’d eat a whole family pack of Birds Eye peas at one sitting.”
Also in the magazine this week and next are unseen photos from Victoria Beckham’s family album, plus further extracts from her autobiography, Learning To Fly.
