Joss Stone helps provide wild birds with a safe haven in New Zealand

Joss Stone took time out of her world tour to help plant trees that will offer a safe haven for wild birds in New Zealand. The 27-year-old soul singer was helping a project designed to protect the birds from predators such as rats, possums and cats. Situated on an island in the Waikato River, Joss, fellow musician Tiki Taane and Earthrace’s Pete Bethune, planted several varieties of trees, including Rewa Rewa and Kahikatea, a species of tree that can grow to over 60m high.   Joss Stone with Tiki Taane and Pete Buthane Few predators can reach the island so situating the trees here
