Wedding dress inspiration from the 'Queen of Vintage' Florence Welch

11 JANUARY 2012

Wedding wear has had a vintage makeover of late, with brides opting for soft, romantic gowns on their big day.

Kate Moss wed in a vintage-inspired, loose-fitting dress, and Lily Allen’s lace bridal gown had a decidedly 1920s feel.

So those wanting to think outside the box could take inspiration from singer Florence Welch, whose love for antique clothing has seen her dubbed the ‘Queen of Vintage’.

Her floaty, ethereal gowns featuring gauze, sequins and embellishment in a colour palette of pale pink, shimmering nudes and soft gold are crying out to be worn down the aisle.

An ivory, froufrou lace gown with nipped-in waist is a dream for the more daring bride.

And a nude, crystal embellished full-length gown is perfect for the uber stylish lady.
