Manuel Mota: a final line of bridal gowns in detail

The recent loss of renowned bridal designer, Manuel Mota, has left a hole in the hearts of brides, and shoes that are difficult to fill in the Spanish company, Pronovias.

The Spanish designer – whose style and design was truly unique – headed the Barcelona-born label Pronovias for 23 years and is most acclaimed for having famously created Doutzen Kroes' bridal gown in 2010. He died aged 46.

President of the company, Alberto Palatchi, said: "The Pronovias family has lost one of its best loved members.

"We are left with the memory of so many collections, so many catwalk shows, so much effort and talent. Manuel was a great partner, a great artist and above all, a great person. We will never forget him."

Among his extensive legacy, Manuel has left behind a final line of bridal gowns, complete with asymmetrical designs, exceptional embroidery, ethreal feather skirts and floral patterned lace. In a truly unforgettable collection we take a look at the details of the last masterpieces…

As part of the Pronovias 2013 collection, Le Jardin des Reves – 'The Garden of Dreams', designer Manuel Mota lay a carpet of flowers on the walkway of the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) to match his wedding dresses which feature cascading camellia along lace skirts

A cascade of decorative petals showed the romantic side of Manuel who said he found his inspiration for dresses in "art books, photography, fashion, jewellery... and antique shops"

Billowing layers of lightweight silk give the illusion of floating on the ground with its water-like movement in these asymmetrical dresses, one of which has been cut high enough to show off the knee

Asymmetrical necklines and sheer fabrics that show just the right amound of skin for a chic wedding day look are evocative of the Twenties

Pearlescent leaves emboss Manuel's more simple and sleek-cut designs for a touch of glamour for your wedding day

Crochet flowers across the back, neckline and skirt give the gowns of Pronovias a carefree bohemian feel, ideal for spring and summer weddings

Embroidered capes and luxurious veils are the classic go-to accessory for any bride, and a prominent feature of the 2013 collection. Manuel created half-lenth capes in intricate lace, as well as ethereal flowing, floor-length cuts

Embroidery features in one of the most spectacular mermaid-like designs of the collection, covering the model's entire back. Manuel Mota always paid avid attention to detail in his designs as seen here in these intricately embellished dresses

Lace fabric always gives off a quintessentially traditional feel for brides, so there's no surprise that it features as an essential pattern throughout the Manuel Mota 2013 collection
