Coldplay have scored the very first official number one of this year – three months after the song's release.
They knocked chart rookies Military Wives choir off the top with their single Paradise.
The track is taken from their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto.
Paradise, was actually released on October 30, but has slowly climbed to the top of the charts.
An appearance on the X Factor final is said to be responsible for the song's new-found success.
Despite their status as one of the most revered outfits in music, Paradise is only their second number one single.
The band's first was Viva La Vida.
Elsewhere in the charts, former X Factor contestant Olly Murs secured this week's number two with Dance With Me Tonight.
Meanwhile Flo Rida's Good Feeling climbed to number three.
