Oprah Winfrey insists her cable network will succeed

Oprah Winfrey has insisted that she still has faith in her troubled cable network.

The chat show queen appeared on America's CBS This Morning and told the show's co-host – and her best friend – Gayle King that she believes the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) will fulfil its mission of transforming viewers' lives.

But if audiences don't respond, Oprah said: "I will move on to the next thing."

The network has struggled to build ratings since it was launched in January 2011.

The US TV star launched her station after calling time on her massively popular Chicago-based talk show.
