Comedy legend John Cleese has signed a deal to pen an autobiography.
The 72-year-old has struck a deal with Random House to publish his memoirs.
Having starred in such comic classics as Fawlty Towers and Monty Python and The Holy Grail, the star believes that after a 50 year stint in the industry it couldn't be a better time to pick up a pen.
He said: "It's the perfect moment to look back on my life in anticipation of the next 50 years."
Random House are also proud of their new signing.
A spokesperson said: "Enduringly popular, brilliantly witty and impressively erudite, John is a towering figure in every sense of the word. His memoir will be a major publishing event."
