Van Morrison: 'I know his mum but baby isn't mine'

While Van Morrison has admitted that he does know the woman alleged to have had his love child, the singer is still insisting he is not the baby's father.

Forty two year old Gigi Lee - who gave birth to son George Ivan Morrison III on December 28 - has been confirmed as Van's recent tour manager and was recently appointed director of many of his companies.

But the singer - who has two children with his wife Michelle and a daughter from his first marriage - still insists "there is no truth in the suggestion that I have recently become a father".

Van has reportedly apologised to his rep for denying his friendship with Gigi.

"He dug a hole for himself by not telling the truth at the beginning and he has to live with that. Even so he remains adamant that this is not his child," says a source.

Meanwhile a close friend of new mum Gigi believes the singer is being dishonest.

"The guy's a jerk. I have no idea why he is denying this," says the pal.
