Baroness Thatcher ubiquitous on this summer's social circuit

After a few years spent out of the public eye, Margaret Thatcher seems to be everywhere this summer.

Last month the former PM was in Rome meeting with the Pope, and prior to that she attended two official events with the Queen – the Castle of May patrons' garden party and the Order of Merit celebrations.

And on Thursday the 83-year-old was out and about again, taking part in the Founders day celebrations at the Royal Chelsea Hospital.

The gathering, which was also attended by the Queen's cousin, Princess Alexandra, is held every year on a day close to May 29 – the birth date of Charles II, who founded the hospital in December 1681.
