More on the royal wedding
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams (left) will marry Prince William and Kate Middleton in April, The Sunday Telegraph reports.
Speculation had been growing that the Bishop of London, Richard Chartres, would be given the honour due to his friendship with Prince Charles.
He is so close to the heir to the throne that presided over William's confirmation.
And he also counselled the young royal after the death of his mother.
Such a move would have raised eyebrows as that it would have been the first time the Church of England’s most senior cleric had not officiated over the wedding of a future monarch.
It has apparently been decided that the Bishop will read the sermon - giving the two men shared responsiblity for the big day.
