Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum welcome baby girl

Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl called Lyra.

A spokesman for the couple said: "Musician Jamie Cullum and his wife, the author and presenter Sophie Dahl, have become parents.

"Their daughter Lyra was born on March 2. They are over the moon."

Sophie – who is the granddaughter of children’s author Roald Dahl - gave birth at Portland Street Hospital in London.

The hospital is a favourite amongst the A-list including Victoria Beckham and Kate Price, who have both given birth there.

The former plus-sized model, 33 married the jazz singer, 31, in 2009 in a lavish ceremony after four years together.
