Gary Barlow has asked Prince Harry to perform on the special Diamond Jubilee song he is co-writing with Andrew Lloyd Webber in honour of the Queen.
The Take That star has begun a trip across the Commonwealth collecting performances from musicians for the official track that will be featured in the summer musical extravaganza marking the Queen's 60-year reign.
The singer and the Prince met when the two men visited an NGO providing educational and life skills training to children and young people in a deprived part of the Jamaican capital of Kingston.
Gary tried to entice the royal to perform on the song, asking Harry: "I've started the Diamond Jubilee song and we're hoping to get you on a track."
When Harry replied: "I can't sing," Gary persevered and said "tambourine?" then added "just one hit?"
After the Prince left, Gary remained upbeat about royal involvement in his project saying:
"I'm sure we'll get him, he'll do it for the cause."
