A cream blouse once worn by ultimate screen icon Marilyn Monroe is to be auctioned off later this month.
Despite its impeccable Hollywood pedigree, the top is more likely to be snapped up by a memorabilia collector than a fan aspiring to emulate their heroine, however, as despite its sheer sleeves, the item is a decidedly sedate affair. It features vertical front pleats and a high-buttoning neckline far from the décolleté-revealing styles favoured by the blonde bombshell.
Its Margaret Thatcher-esque lines notwithstanding the blouse, which is to be auctioned off at Ludlow Racecourse on April 23, is expected to raise £1,000.
