Reese Witherspoon 'resting' after being hit by car
Reese Witherspoon has suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car while jogging near Los Angeles.
Santa Monica police Sergeant Richard Lewis said the Oscar-winner was hit by a vehicle driven by an 84-year-old woman.
Reese was jogging in Santa Monica when the driver struck her at about 20mph.
The 35-year-old actress was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Sergeant Lewis said the driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crossing.
Explaining that she was not seriously injured, a representative for Reese confirmed she is "resting comfortably at home."
