Al Pacino gets to play Napoleon in family flick

He's been itching to step into the diminutive French general's shoes for a while, and now Al Pacino is getting his chance to do so.

The result won't be anything like the actor's usual gritty portrayals, however, as he's signed on to play the famous Frenchman in a family flick based on the children's book Betsy And The Emperor.

An autumn start to filming will signify a return to movie work for the actor who last appeared on our screens in 2008 with Righteous Kill, the crime drama in which he starred with Robert De Niro.
