Adam Ant prepared to 'stand and deliver' once again

Anyone who ever posed and pouted to the sounds of Adam Ant classic Prince Charming should get ready to dig out their New Romantic wardrobe. The Eighties pin-up is planning to hit the road again.

After a spell of ill-health during which he was sectioned for six months in 2002, the singer - pictured here receiving a Q magazine icon award last year - says a new relationship and exercise regime have given him back his self-belief.

Adam, whose real name is Stuart Goddard, said recently: "I've been hitting the gym and walking a lot. I feel great, better than I have in years. 

"(My girlfriend) Clare has also been making sure I eat only the finest healthy food."

The last time the 54-year-old pop hero performed was in 2006, when he marked the publication of his autobiography, entitled Stand And Deliver, with a secret gig.

A CD of the concert was given an enthusiastic reception when it was released online.
