Liam Neeson confirms return to work with Zeus role

The untimely passing of his wife Natasha Richardson put a questionmark over Liam Neeson's next film project Clash Of The Titans. He has confirmed, however, that he will appear as Zeus, king of the gods, in the movie which begins shooting later this month in the UK.

It will presumably be of comfort to the 56-year-old Irishman that his co-star is Ralph Fiennes, a friend of the couple since he and Liam worked together on 1993 Oscar winner Schindler's List.

Ralph was among those who paid tribute to Natasha following her death in a March skiing accident, calling her a "great actress, a beautiful woman, and a fiercely loyal friend".

Their latest collaboration is a new version of the 1981 mythological epic which starred Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith. In it the English actor will play Hades who, with his brother Zeus, battled the Titans for dominion of the universe and became god of the underworld. Gemma Arterton stars as the demi-goddess Io.
