Lindsay Lohan considers plea deal, tweets innocence

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer has revealed the star is willing to accept a plea bargain if it means she can avoid being sent to jail.

The 24-year-old has been accused of stealing a $2,500 gold necklace and charged with grand theft.

Lindsay took to Twitter on Friday to protest her innocence, tweeting: "I would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal…"

Speaking to CNN, her lawyer said: “Ms Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I've seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible.

"Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career," she added.
