Norwegian royals Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are moving out of their Skaugum estate in Oslo soon to allow renovation work to begin on the royal residence.
While the builders are in the couple and their children, Ingrid Alexandra, five, three-year-old Sverre Magnus, and 12-year-old Marius, will stay at the royal estate of Bygdo in the Norwegian capital, the summer residence of Haakon's father King Harald.
The Norwegian monarch gave Skaugum to his son and wife on the occasion of their wedding in 2004. It's something of a family tradition. Harald was given the property, which features 140 rooms and is set in 15 hectares of gardens, by his father when he wed a young Crown Princess Sonja in 1968.
