Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall were warmly welcomed in Dundee on Tuesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay – as they are known locally – were greeted at the DC Thomson offices by Dundee’s Lord Provost Bob Duncan, members of the Thomson family as well as staff waving Beano-themed flags.

"We were delighted to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay to our Kingsway plant," DC Thomson chairman Andrew F. Thomson said.

"Their Royal Highnesses toured the presses and met with staff members from our publishing business, in particular production."

The royal couple then unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of the new printing facility.

DC Thomson prints newspapers such as The Courier, The Evening Telegraph and The Sunday Post.

It also produces one of the most successful children’s publications of all time, The Beano.
