Russell Crowe congratulates Jean Dujardin, star of The Artist, which made off with seven awards at the BAFTAS.
The silent movie that has had cinema-goers in raptures picked trophies in the best actor, best film and best director categories.
Asked to explain the film's success Jean's co-star Berenice Bejo said: "You don't need words to say I love you."
Elsewhere, Meryl Streep was recognised as best actress for The Iron Lady.
And Christopher Plummer became the oldest winner of a BAFTA for his supporting role in Beginners.
The Help's Octavia Spencer took home a best supporting actress award for her portrayal of feisty maid in the civil rights drama.
