The results are subtle – but they are there all the same.

Wayne Rooney showed off the fuller hairline his £30,000 hair transplant has given him as he took part in a training session at Harvard University.

The Manchester United player is on a pre-season tour of the US with his team mates.

At the start of last month, Wayne had the operation – during which hairs are transplanted from donor areas, at the back of the head, and then replanted where needed.

He has been open about the surgery, telling his Twitter followers: "Just to confirm…I have had a hair transplant.

"I was going bald at 25 why not. I’m delighted with the result."
