Johnny Depp wants to bail out Nicolas Cage

Though he sometimes plays the bad guy on the big screen, Johnny Depp certainly is a good friend to have.

According to a source, he wants to come to the rescue of his old pal Nicolas Cage, who is in a bit of financial trouble with a £3.5 million tax bill.

"Johnny feels he owes his career to Nic and now wants to repay him – if Nic agrees,” says the friend.

Now an A-lister, Johnny was a struggling musician when the two met in the Eighties (pictured), but with some help from the Con Air star, he jump-started his career and landed a role in A Nightmare on Elm Street.
