Prince George commemorative plate created for Kate Middleton's charity

Porcelain producers Royal Worcester has created a one-off commemorative Royal Birth Plate to celebrate Prince George's arrival.

The plate will be sold in a high-profile online auction to raise money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), a charity of which the Duchess of Cambridge is the Royal Patron.

EACH provides invaluable help to families across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridge and offers care and support to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Kate Middleton has been a patron of the charity since January 2012 following a private visit to the hospice the previous November. A spokesman for St James's Palace said at the time that Kate's decision to support EACH reflected her interest in supporting "very ill and vulnerable children and young people."

The Royal Birth Plate auction launches on 15 November at the-saleroom.co.uk and bidding ends on 24 November.
