In celebration of their 90-year-anniversary on the radio, the BBC will feature a special broadcast created by Blur's frontman Damon Albarn on Wednesday afternoon.
Composed of music, voices and sounds, the audio collage made by the Gorrilaz band member is named 2LO after the first transmitter used back in 1922.
Scheduled for play at 5.33pm BST, Damon's collage will be the second ever simultaneous broadcast to be played by the BBC, and has a potential reach of 80 million listeners.
Damon said that he felt the pressure when making the recording, but hopes it will be received well.
The musician said: "I don't know what the various audiences will make of it… the biggest kind of block I had was, I can't make it too Radio 4, but I can't make it too Radio 1, but in Nigeria, none of those apply, or Afghanistan."
