The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlene of Monaco were deep in conversation at the Queen’s exclusive lunch on Thursday.
And considering their wealth of similarities – they both got married last year, share a common love of sports and are involved in children’s charities – they must have had a lot to talk about.
Kate was radiant in a pastel pink Alice coat by Emilia Wickstead with bold pleats that fell from the waist.
And Charlene had also opted for a pastel hue with her mint green coat.
The two ladies left their other halves – Prince William and Prince Albert – to catch up as they enjoyed a chat.
The royals were treated to a tartlet of poached egg with English asparagus to start.
This was followed by a main course of new season Windsor Lamb with braised potatoes, artichokes, peas, carrots, broad bens, cabbage and a tomato and basil salad.
The lavish meal was topped off with Kent strawberries and vanilla Charlottes, with fruit and cheese also on offer.
