Emmerdale cast members take on Tour De France

Emmerdale cast members will take part in charity cycling challenge Tour De ITV, which includes part of the iconic Tour De France route.

The challenge will take place on 1 July, before the start of Tour De France, and will see cast members such as Jamie Shelton (who played Robbie Lawson in Emmerdale) ride the 60 miles from Coronation Street's Rover's Return, back to Emmerdale's Woolpack pub.

"I think the ride will be a lot of fun," said Jamie. "A great way to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care".

Tour De ITV is part of the ITV Local Heroes campaign, aiming to encourage volunteering in local sport. "It's great to be part of the ITV Local Heroes campaign," added Jamie. "It's inspiring more people to volunteer at local sports clubs allowing others to enjoy more sport."

Other stars taking part include Good Morning's Laura Tobin, who will be joining the cast on the journey which will also include a stint across the Pennine Hills.
