Taylor Swift unveils first pop album with new single Shake It Off

Taylor Swift unveiled her brand new single Shake It Off, on Monday afternoon, surprising fans all over the world.

The new single will be the lead track on her very first "official pop album".

Titled 1989, after the 24-year-old musician's year of birth and late 80's music that inspired the tracks, Taylor's fifth studio LP is due for release on 27 October.

"I've been working on a new album for two years," the country singer revealed. "I like to work on albums for two years, because I feel like two years gives you enough time to grow and change... This is a bit of a rebirth for me."

Taylor collaborated with Max Martin and Shellback on the new track, who have recently worked on Lily Allen's Air Balloon and Katy Perry's Birthday, as well as Taylor's songs 22 and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

The Grammy award winning pop star's latest video for Shake It Off is directed by Mark Romanek, a director Taylor has wanted to work with for a long time.
