The fashion at next year's Academy Awards might not be confined to the red carpet.
A film about Italian designer Valentino is one of 15 titles long-listed for the best documentary award.
Valentino: The Last Emperor follows the 77-year-old's last days as head of his fashion house.
But this year's other fashion hit – The September Issue, a documentary about Vogue editor Anna Wintour – did not make it on to the list.
Neither did Michael Moore's latest project, Capitalism: A Love Story.
Those which are eligible for the coveted gong include The Cove – a film about the slaughter of dolphins in Japan – and Burma VJ, a docu-drama about protests in Burma.
The shortlist of the five films which will battle it out for the prize will be announced on February 2, when the Oscar nominations are revealed.
