Emily Deschanel has welcomed a baby boy into the world.

The Bones star and actor husband David Hornsby are celebrating the arrival of their first child, who was born on Wednesday.

They have named the little boy Henry.

A spokesperson for the actress confirmed the baby's arrival to People.

Emily's Bones co-star TJ Thyne couldn't resist sharing the happy news on his Twitter.

"CONGRATULATIONS EMILY D!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay yay yay!!! :o)" he wrote.

The 34-year-old actress and David - who appears on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - were married in 2010.

Emily's actress sister Zooey could hardly contain her excitement after the pregnancy was announced in April.

She tweeted: "I am super excited to be an aunt!"
