In a Britpop resurgence Pulp and Blur won major prizes at this year's Q Awards.

Blur took the trophy for the Best Live Act on the back of their performance at the Olympic Games, whereas Pulp picked up this year's Inspiration Award.

Meanwhile Muse (pictured), took home the award for the Best Act The World. The band's latest album, 2nd Law, reached number one in UK album charts.

As well as honouring some more established bands, the ceremony celebrated the work of newcomers Django Django as they won the Best New Act award.
