Actor Bradley Cooper said that one of the best things about being in The Silver Linings Playbook was being able to called Robert De Niro "Dad".
The Hangover star plays Pat Solitano in the film, which tells the tale of a recently separated bi-polar sufferer who has lost his job and home. Pat is not the only member of the family who suffers with mental illness, as his father, played by Robert, is also an OCD sufferer.
After sharing intimate scenes with the star, Bradley was glad that the pair bonded.
"It was extremely soothing to be able to say the word 'Dad' and have him be the person I was saying it to," said Bradley.
"As a human being he's very softly spoken and giving. I trust and love him and know he's going to bring the best out of me."
Academy Awards nominees Jennifer Lawrence and Jacki Weaver also star in the critically acclaimed film, which has won awards at The Hollywood Film Festival, and is tipped to be an Oscar favourite.
