Georgia Harrup, a distant cousin of global super-star Adele has stunned coaches with her singing voice in an audition for the BB1 talent show The Voice.
The hopeful 27-year-old only found out five years ago that she was related to her idol Adele. Her father Albie, who is the brother of Adele’s grandmother found out the baffling news after a phone call he made to his family.
“He came off the phone and told me that the person whose album I loved was related to me. I couldn't believe it, as she was always a massive inspiration to me anyway." Georgia said.
Coaches Will.I.Am, Kylie Minogue, Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson were amazed with her rendition of Ray Charles' “Hallelujah I Love Her So” and put her vocal ability down to "good genes".
Georgia, who will appear on Saturday’s show of The Voice, believes however that her musical genes comes from her father whose 60s’ band supported Jimi Hendrix on tour.
