The ladies of the Dutch royal family step out in their most splendid attire for a gala dinner at the De Witte lierary club in The Hague.
At the glittering occasion, held to mark an official visit by Sweden's King Carl Gustaf, Crown Princess Maxima was on radiant form in a floor-length cerise affair and a ruby tiara once owned by her husband's great-grandmother, Queen Wilhelmina.
Created in 1897, the magnificent headwear features a distinctive peacock shaped arrangement.
No less regal was Maxima's mother-in-law Queen Beatrix and her sister Princess Margriet. The royal matriarch had donned her favourite diamond tiara, which was made for King Willem III's wife Queen Emma in 1890
