SJP and husband 'over the moon' about arrival of surrogate twins

Heavyweight acting couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are now the proud parents of twin girls, named Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick.

The newborns, who were born in an Ohio hospital on Monday, are siblings for James Wilkie, their six-year-old son.

A spokesman said: "Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters".

"Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker's side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon."

Marion was born weighing 5lbs 11oz, while Tabitha weighed 6lbs.

In April the Sex And The City star described her joy on hearing that her dream of adding to their family was about to be realised with the help of surrogate mum Michelle Ross.

The 44-year-old also spoke of the heartbreak she and Matthew suffered in their failed attempts to have another child.

Last month, Sarah spoke of her concern for their surrogate after media revelations about her lifestyle
