Michael Jackson's remains are due to be buried on September 3, rather than the expected date of August 29 - which would have been the singer's 51st birthday.
In a statement from the Jackson family, the reason for the delay has not been revealed.
The late king of pop is to be buried in a private ceremony at the Glendale Forest-Lawn memorial park.
Meanwhile Michael's three children - Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Blanket - have been spotted enjoying a fun-filled trip to Las Vegas to help them get over their loss.
Accompanied by grandmother Katherine and a nanny, the youngsters were spotted splashing around in the pool at a luxury hotel complex and sipping on non-alcoholic strawberry-banana daiquiris.
It was familiar ground for the children, who lived at the same Palms Hotel resort with their father for a spell in 2008.
