Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have banded together for the sake of their son following his surfing accident.

Christopher, 13, (pictured far right) was boogie boarding during a trip to the beach with his mother when the incident occured.

He suffered several broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

And despite their recent separation following the revelation of a lovechild, Arnold joined Maria in her bedside vigil and has not left since.

The couple even released a joint statement that read: “A few days ago our son Christopher suffered an accident at the beach.

“While it has been a very scary week, Christopher is surrounded by his family and friends.

“He is a brave boy and is expected to make a full recovery.

“We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and ask for respect and privacy for Christopher and our family.”
