Proving that her Oscar nomination hasn't affected her grounded nature, Carey Mulligan has just moved into a budget hotel in LA.

The An Education star has apparently set up home in a £69-a-night Best Western, having moved out of the house she shared with ex-boyfriend Transformers actor, Shia LaBeouf.

Despite being Hollywood's hot new star and being able to command up to £3.5 million a movie, the 25-year-old star has vowed in the past never to "go Hollywood", preferring to drive a Toyota Prius and shop in Oxfam.

A staff member at the hotel said: "We pride ourselves on being clean and tidy but this is a long way from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood."

"[Carey] is very easy-going. She hasn’t made any special requests and doesn’t ask to be treated any differently. She keeps herself to herself and seems quite happy here."
