Irish rockers U2 were crowned as the greatest act of the last 25 years at Monday’s Q Awards.
The honour was voted for by readers of the music magazine.
Iconic frontman, Bono, drew inspiration from the Queen song, We Are The Champions, as he explained the secret of his band's staying power.
"We'll keep on fighting to the end. That's what being in a band is all about," he said.
Other big winners on the night included Coldplay, who were named the best act in the world today.
Take That's Gary Barlow was also rewarded with an honorary prize as classic songwriter for spanning two decades of hits.
Fellow winner Chris Martin was in jovial spirits as he presented the award to Gary and joked: "When I was a small boy I saw two groups of men who excited me - one was U2 - the other was a group of singers and dancers from Manchester.
"I thought 'am I gay - or is this guy just a classic songwriter?'
"It turns out 20 years later that he's a classic songwriter."
