Jonathan Rhys Meyers released on bail after alleged airport scuffle

The Tudors actor has been held by police in Paris after an alleged fracas with several members of staff at Charles de Gaulle airport this week.

The 31-year-old, who stars as Henry VIII in the Golden Globe-nominated series, is believed to have become involved in an argument with a member of one of the airport's bar staff.

After being detained for three hours, the Irish actor was given bail and told he must appear before magistrates in Paris this September, reportedly on charges of "willful violence".

A spokesperson for the actor - who has struggled with alcohol problems in the past and was arrested in a similar airport incident in Dublin in 2007 - said he had no comment.
