Robert Pattinson thanks fans for New Moon success

After the eagerly awaited Twilight sequel topped box office sales last weekend with a whopping $140 million, Robert Pattinson and his co-stars have been showing their appreciation using Twitter.

"Thank you for making NEW MOON #1," It's very exciting to be a part of something embraced by so many people," 23-year-old Robert posted.

"I hope you are looking forward to ECLIPSE as much as I am." 

Kristen Stewart, who plays Rob's love-interest Bella, also shared her gratitude. 

"You all have proven you're the most amazing fans in the world once again. I feel so lucky to be a part of The Twilight Saga and thank you for making us #1!"

"Yes, I twittered," she wrote. "Or twitted ... tweeted? I dunno, but thank you sooo much anyway..!"
