Queen's missing silverware returned anonymously by post

Queen's missing silverware returned anonymously by post

The Queen was reportedly left saddened by the disappearance of several crockery and cutlery pieces from her private tent last month during a Buckingham Palace garden party.

This week, however, the British monarch may have been pleasantly surprised to find some of these pieces returned to her.

"Some of the silver King George III spoons have been sent back," through the post," a source told a Daily Mail columnist. "Anonymously, of course - someone must have felt guilty."

The irreplaceable silverware went astray after she invited some of her 5,000 guests under the awning of her private tent to shelter from the storm which hit her first summer garden party of the year.
