Charles and Camilla explore romantic Venice

Standing on a bridge overlooking one of Venice's picturesque waterways, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall got a real taste of the Italian island city as they paused to watch a gondola passing on one of the sity's legendary canals.
 
The Prince and his wife were in the northern Italian city on day two of an official four-day visit to Europe.
 
During their stay the couple fulfilled a series of engagements. For the Duchess of Cornwall culture was top of the agenda as she took toured the Peggy Guggenheim Collection – Italy's most important collection of modern art,housed in a small museum on the Grand Canal.
 
Meanwhile for her eco-conscious spouse there was an opportunity to learn more about Venice's Lagoon Regeneration Project at a seminar where the 60-year-old royal also delivered a speech.
 
The couple – who had an audience with the Pope on Monday - are are also due to visit Germany later
