TV bosses could launch a junior version of The Voice, despite the current show's low ratings.
A children's programme has already been screened in the Netherlands, the birthplace of the talent contest which has now spread around the world.
The programme's Dutch creator, John de Mol, said: "The Voice Kids was a tremendous success in Holland. There was a big emotional reaction from the parents of the children taking part."
In an interview with Mediaguardian, he said there was a "fair chance" that the programme - aimed at eight to 14-year-olds - would be screened by the BBC.
Mr de Mol also said there were likely to be changes to the format for the future.
