When Prince William turns 30 on June 21 his "incredible" grandma, the Queen, will make him Knight of the Thistle to mark the occasion.
The monarch will award the Prince with the full titles Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.
This is the highest honour she can bestow in Scotland.
Unlike other knighthoods, it's only given as a personal gift from the Queen.
William has spoken on several occasions about their close bond, saying he relies on her wisdom.
In a touching Diamond Jubilee tribute, the future King recently shared his most prized memory of their relationship.
William, an RAF pilot, shared a picture of them together online at his graduation from Sandhurst in 2006, saying it was one of his proudest hours.
