Celine Dion and husband announce twins' names

After several days of sorting through thousands of options, Celine Dion and husband René Angelil have finally decided on names for their twin boys - Nelson and Eddy.

The singer admitted to having considered up to 15,000 names in their search, but none seemed right.

The decision became a family affair with both the couple’s eldest son, René-Charles, and Celine's mother, weighing in.

René-Charles, given his education in the US, opted for English first names, explained Celine, whereas her mother - who is French-Canadian – was leaning toward French ones.

“We’re going a little bit crazy trying to decide”, said the 42-year-old.

In the end, the couple decided to honour people who have touched their lives.

Nelson is named after Nelson Mandela who the couple met in 2008 and who impressed them enormously.

Eddy is named in honour of Eddy Marnay who produced Celine’s first five records.
