Fellow musicians have been paying tribute to hip-hop pioneer Gil Scott-Heron, who died at the age of 62.
Eminem and Snoop Dogg were amongst the famous rappers who expressed their sorrow after hearing the news.
Eminem acknowledged the musician's influence: "RIP Gil Scott-Heron. He influenced all of hip-hop," whilst Snoop Dogg tweeted: "#rip to 1 of tha greats gil scott heron."
And Forget You singer Cee Lo Green paid tribute with a tweet reading: "Rest in peace to the GOD GIL SCOTT".
Gil, who was dubbed the Godfather of Rap, died in a New York hospital, the cause of death not yet known.
He released his final album, I'm New Here, in 2010.
