Daniel Day Lewis is donating papers that belonged to his poet father Cecil to Oxford University.
The archive of 54 boxes includes the writer's poetry, as well as letters from his academic companions W.H. Auden, Robert Graves and Philip Larkin.
Cecil studied Classics and then subsequently became a professor of poetry at Oxford, and became the Poet Laureate in 1968.
He also wrote mystery novels and stories under the name of Nicholas Blake.
The paper's will be housed in the world-renowned Bodleian Libraries, and will be accessible by students and researchers.
