Britain's number one tennis player Tim Henman and comedian Jonathan Ross went head to head on Monday in the lighthearted "Smashed" celebrity tennis contest in Regents Park, London.

Billed as Britain's largest mouth, Jonathan talked a big game in the run-up to the match, boasting: "I think it's highly likely that you'll be seeing a new face at Wimbledon this year." And the popular star fared fairly well against tennis champ Tim, with the athlete barely edging him out, 6-4.

However, the close score had little to do with Jonathan's tennis prowess – his opponent was burdened with a number of humorous handicaps, including alternately playing with a cricket bat and miniature racket, and swinging at the ball wrong handed.

Tennis pro Annabel Croft took on umpiring duties in the fun-filled match, in which sexy ball girls Penny Lancaster and Nell McAndrew drew as much attention as the on-court antics. And not only did Tim take home the trophy, he was also rewarded with a kiss on the cheek from the two blonde beauties.

The charity event was held in support of the Ariel Champions of the Future programme, which aims to encourage children to be active in tennis.
